Badminton works best for me.
You must have felt this — Deadlines are crushing, your health is slipping, and you feel both mentally and emotionally drained.
I code.
And long hours of sitting at a desk and barely squeezing in movement often leave me with stiff muscles that no amount of sleep could fix.
It was during this low point that I discovered an unexpected source of healing — sports.
At first, it wasn’t intentional. I picked up a badminton racket one evening, hoping for a distraction.
But what I found over time was something deeper.
Sports didn’t just give me a break from the chaos — it began to heal me, both physically and emotionally.
When I first started playing badminton, my sole aim was to get some exercise, but I quickly realized the sport offered so much more.
Within weeks, I felt my energy levels surge. My body grew stronger, my posture improved, and I slept better at night.
The rhythm of swinging the racket and dashing across the court seemed to synchronize with my heartbeat, regulating it and making me feel more alive. It was a reminder of how connected our bodies and minds are — nurture one, and the other flourishes.
I still remember one particular evening after work.
I was completely spent — mentally and physically. But instead of sinking into the couch, I pushed myself to the court. By the time the session ended, the heaviness in my chest was gone. My heart raced, but not with anxiety — this was the exhilarating thump of life itself.
You never know — it might be the early morning run for you.
The world is quiet, the air is cool, and it is just you and the road. The repetitive rhythm of your feet pounding the ground, seeming to silence the noise in your head. You are not just running away from your problems — you are running towards clarity. You return home lighter, calmer, and ready to face the day.
Start small.
Maybe it’s a brisk walk in the park, a swim at your local pool, or a yoga class with a friend.
In case we are meeting for the first time, come over here, it’ll be worth the roller coaster of articles that are gonna come up in the next few weeks.
