Why did I stop writing and start reading for a week?

When I read that a Microsoft study said that our attention span has become less than 8 seconds, I was shocked.

Most of what I wrote came from personal experiences or things I saw on social media. But when I tried reading other people’s work, my attention barely lasted a few minutes, sometimes only seconds. I realized it took serious focus and concentration.

I began to wonder if this was why my write-ups took so long. Upon deeper reflection, I realized it wasn’t just the writing; it applied to nearly everything. Hence, everything lacked newer perspectives, creativity, a good enhanced vocabulary, and even insights about most things.

This is when I decided, I’ll take a break from writing and social media and just start reading.

A week later, I feel much more confident in my write-ups. I use a time-bound method to write (learned from reading someone)

If you have any suggestions, I’m all ears. Hoping to get some insights upon reading your responses.
