Why Google Antigravity Needs to Refund Pro Users?

The Claude model integration in Antigravity is officially broken.

Users are being trapped in endless 6-day cooldown loops, turning a premium IDE subscription into a massive waste of money.

I have been rationing my local compute for the FightIQ backend all week, specifically waiting for my Claude quota in Google Antigravity to finally reset. I need to train my models more, and I do need a lot of scraping very regularly.

I checked the Agent Manager today, fully expecting the progress bar to be green so I could get back to architecture planning.

Instead, right at the exact moment my 6-day cooldown was supposed to end, the timer instantly reset for another 6 days.

I had not sent a single prompt. I had not even opened a file.

A quick trip to Twitter and Antigravity communities confirms that my workspace is not an isolated glitch.

The community is in an absolute uproar. Developers have been locked out of the Claude models for two straight weeks, caught in a phantom reset loop that makes the Pro subscription feel less like a tool and more like a trap.

So, why is the UI lying to us, and why Google owes its Pro users an immediate refund option?

The Phantom Reset Loop

When Antigravity first launched its Pro tier, the promise was straightforward: generous access to top-tier models like Claude Opus 4.6 and Sonnet, governed by a rolling 5-hour refresh window.

But over the last month, that system has completely deteriorated.

Based on dozens of community reports and my own IDE logs, if you push your usage past a certain hidden threshold (often reported as dipping below 40% of your total capacity), the system flags you as a power user.

It abandons the 5-hour refresh and slaps you with a massive weekly cooldown.

The real bug, however, is the reset mechanism itself.

Users are patiently waiting out their 6-day or 7-day penalties.

But the exact moment the cooldown expires, the Antigravity server recalculates the quota, glitches out, and instantly applies another week-long penalty.

People are going 14–20 days without being able to run a single Claude inference

The Subscription Bait and Switch

This is where the frustration turns into a legitimate consumer issue.

Many of us running multi-model stacks pay that $20 a month specifically for the Claude integration.

Google’s native Gemini 3.1 Pro is powerful for deep context window tasks, but when it comes to the messy logic of a complex repository, Claude is the industry standard for code review and generation.

Right now, developers are paying a premium subscription for a 3rd-party model they literally cannot access.

As one user on the forums bluntly put it:

“If this continues, it is better to just remove Claude models entirely and give Pro users an option for a refund.”

Leaving the model in the UI while permanently locking users out behind a broken quota bar is essentially gaslighting your paying customers.

It keeps them subscribed in the false hope that the tool will magically start working tomorrow.

Note: Lately, even Gemini 3.1 Pro is extremely bad with quotas.

Protecting Your Local Stack

If you are trying to ship a startup, you cannot afford to have your entire workflow paralyzed because a massive tech company cannot fix its API rate limit logic.

For the time being, I am completely pulling my Claude dependencies out of Antigravity.

If I need Claude’s reasoning, I am routing it through the official Claude Code CLI or Cursor, where the billing is transparent and the quotas actually reset when they are supposed to.

Antigravity can handle the Gemini tasks, but until Google acknowledges this bug, it is not a reliable wrapper for Anthropic’s models.

Come on! Do the Right Thing, Google

We all understand that running third-party AI models is incredibly expensive.

Compute is not free.

If Google needs to throttle Claude usage to make the Antigravity unit economics work, they need to explicitly state those hard limits in the pricing tier.

But trapping developers in an infinite cooldown loop while continuing to charge their credit cards is unacceptable.

Google needs to fix the loop, or they need to issue prorated refunds for the weeks we have been locked out of the core product.
