Text them first.

We all have this one person in our life texting us all the time.

I am not saying they are someone who wants to date you or be someone more than a friend. They can be anyone. Your elder sister, your lonely long-lost colleague or even your dad who just wants to communicate and spend more time with you.

I have one too. And I don’t know how they’ve become a part of my daily routine now.

  • Some days, I wake up with their ‘good morning’ text.
  • Some days, I sleep laughing on their weirdly funny memes.
  • Some days (or weeks), we take a topic and discuss its bits and parts.

And I work a pretty hectic job where I put my phone off on DND and reply to them 8 to 10 hours later. And I get a reply within minutes.

There have been days when I did not reply to them because of the office work, side projects and writing, and they have never complained about it.

It’s very easy for us to take the constant texter for granted.

Behind every text lies an intention: connection.

They reach out because they care — or, in some cases, because they need to be heard. And they know you are someone who’d understand.

And believe me! In this rapid pace of modern life, where face-to-face interactions are often scarce, a simple “How are you?” can mean the world.

Their messages might feel like background noise on some days when we are stressed, but how about we cherish them on the days we should?

So, respond immediately.
And maybe, just maybe, text them first for a change.

In case we are meeting for the first time, come over here and give me a follow, it’ll be worth the roller coaster of articles that are gonna come up in the next few weeks.
