So, I have been working from home since October this year. And this goes up until 31st December.
I already have 100+ write-ups as drafts for you all.
How?
But now, I’ve started noticing that my creative flow is… well, drying up.
Working from home has its perks — flexible hours, no commute, and cozy surroundings. But it also brings a kind of isolation that creeps up on you.
What I miss the most are those chance conversations.
They weren’t always profound; sometimes they were just small talk or the day’s gossip. Yet even those seemingly random exchanges left an impact. Often, I’d end up reading more about something a co-worker mentioned, or maybe even writing about it later. These conversations fuelled my writing with fresh perspectives and ideas.
Do I love gossip, and am I asking you to work from the office?
No, ofcourse not. I mean I am not denying that sometimes I do like random gossip because real-life TV series are fun too.
But hey, I am not asking you to start working from the office at all.
All I am saying is to start a conversation with a random stranger every once in a while (Be it online). Or do it with an old family member or your mom or dad or your elder sister, whose perspective as an older burdened child might not be something you’d have ever expected to hear.
Sometimes, the best ideas come from the least expected sources. So the next time you feel low on content or inspiration, maybe it’s time to start a new conversation.
