Have you ever asked yourself this:
What do people do when they’re not working?
If you have, trust me you should know —
“doing nothing” is a thing.
Not a member? I still got you *_*
Now, let us be real — life moves fast, and we often feel like we need to move even faster to keep up.
There’s this thought that if we pause, even for a moment, we’ll fall behind. I used to think the same. But one experience changed my perspective, and I’m here to tell you that.
My Experience with Pausing :)
A few months ago, I found myself at a crossroads.
I’d been pushing non-stop, juggling work projects, personal goals, and everything in between.
I was running on fumes but convinced myself that a break wasn’t an option.
I’ll lose momentum, I thought. But eventually, my body and mind gave me no choice — I hit a wall.
Reluctantly, I took a week off. At first, it felt strange. The silence of not constantly “doing” was unsettling. I wondered if I’d regret this break.
But as the days passed, I realized something — — I wasn’t losing ground. I was gaining clarity.
That week became one of the most transformative periods for my growth.
The Pre-Break Panic: A Real Drama
Before my week off, I had what I now call The Great Breakdown of Productivity Anxiety.
I was convinced the world would implode if I stopped answering emails, attending meetings, or pretending to understand spreadsheets.
Thoughts like these ran through my head:
- “If I don’t respond to that email in 3 minutes, they’ll think I’ve quit.”
- “If I stop working, my goals will go on vacation… forever.”
- “If I take a week off, my couch will eat me alive.”
Spoiler alert: None of that happened
Actually, I had a ‘Creativity Surge’.
Somewhere between watching a documentary on badminton and reorganizing my bookshelf by “vibes and aesthetics”, my brain woke up.
Ideas started flowing, not because I forced them, but because I let go.
In the words of my imaginary girlfriend,
Who knew boredom could be the breeding ground for brilliance?

The Science:
Breaks aren’t just a luxury — they’re a secret weapon for boosting productivity, creativity, and mental well-being. When you take a step back, your brain gets a chance to process everything in a fresh way.
You know those moments when you suddenly have a brilliant idea while in the shower or out for a walk? That’s your brain making connections in the background that you didn’t even know were there.
In case we are meeting for the first time, come over here, it’ll be worth the roller coaster of articles that are gonna come up in the next few weeks.
