Not A Member? I got you

I live in Bangalore (~6 months a year). And you know how bad the air and the water is over here :)

I’ve always been a fan of trying new things to improve my health, and after hearing so much about the benefits of Amla (Indian gooseberry), I decided to commit to eating it every day for 60 days.

The claims about its vitamin C content, digestive benefits, and ability to improve skin and hair were enough to convince me to give it a go.

Why Amla?

Because my grandmother says so.

Just kidding xD

Amla, as y’all know is often touted as a superfood, packed with antioxidants and nutrients. It’s believed to boost immunity, improve digestion, and even give your skin and hair a natural glow.

Process:

I started with one raw amla every morning. I wasn’t too sure how this was going to go, but I knew consistency was key.

The First Few Days

Honestly, the first few days were rough. Amla isn’t exactly sweet or easy to swallow — definitely not the most pleasant fruit I’ve eaten. But I stuck with it, determined to see where this would lead.

I didn’t feel any instant energy or see any magical skin transformation. It was just… amla.

Three Weeks In

By the three-week mark, I still hadn’t felt a drastic change in my body. My digestion felt mildly slightly smoother, but it was nothing extraordinary. I didn’t experience any improvement in my energy levels or immunity that I could attribute to the amla alone.

Midway Through

At the halfway point, I still hadn’t seen many of the “promised” benefits. My energy levels were pretty consistent, but I wasn’t feeling the dramatic difference some people claim. Skin-wise, there wasn’t much of a noticeable change, and I didn’t feel like my immunity had improved dramatically either.

Hair health was another area where I didn’t see anything that made me think, “Wow, this is because of the amla.”

60 Days Later

Now that I’ve reached the 60-day mark, here’s where I stand:

Stronger Immunity? I didn’t experience fewer illnesses or any noticeable immune boost.
Improved Digestion? There was a slight decrease in bloating, but it wasn’t as groundbreaking as I had hoped.
Healthier Skin? My complexion stayed the same, with the occasional breakout still popping up.
Consistent Energy? Energy levels were consistent, but I didn’t feel any major improvements.
Shinier Hair? My hair didn’t feel any more radiant or healthier than before.

What’s Next?

I won’t lie — this wasn’t the miracle transformation I was hoping for.

But that’s okay.

Sometimes, even with the best intentions, things don’t always work out the way we expect.

However, I’m not ready to give up just yet.

I’ve decided to keep going for another 4 months to see if the effects kick in over a longer period.

I’m curious to see if a continued commitment will yield different results, and I’ll keep you updated on my progress.

For now, though, I can say that it hasn’t been life-changing — but who knows? I’m still giving it a fair shot.

In case we are meeting for the first time, come over here, it’ll be worth the roller coaster of articles that are gonna come up in the next few weeks.
