I usually write about developer workflows, testing tools, setting up Cursor, or pushing micro-SaaS apps to production.
But today, I am pausing the usual programming to highlight a massive opportunity for early-career developers.
Anthropic just launched the Claude Corps fellowship.
It is a 12-month, in-person program that literally pays you to learn AI and build tools for mission-driven nonprofits.
Here is the kicker:
they pay $85,000 a year, plus full benefits like medical, dental, 401k, and disability insurance.
Who is this for?
If you are worried that you need a PhD or a decade of machine learning experience, you can relax.
Anthropic is specifically looking for people with under two years of full-time work experience.
This is a perfect launchpad if you are a junior developer wanting to pivot into AI.
The goal of the program is to deploy AI talent into nonprofits working on arts, civic tech, education, and public assistance.
You get to build real-world AI solutions that actually help people. It is a win for your resume and a win for society. The program is a joint effort between Anthropic, CodePath, and Social Finance.
They are taking in 1,000 fellows for the cohort starting this October.
The Catch
There are a few logistical requirements:
- You must be 18 or older.
- You need to be legally authorized to work in the US.
- The role is strictly in-person and full-time.

The deadline is July 17th.
Do not sleep on this.
Before you can even submit your application, you must complete two free Anthropic courses
- AI Fluency Course
- Claude 101
Both are straightforward and can easily be knocked out over a weekend.

The Interview Process
If you are actively prepping for interviews, the structure here will look familiar.
- Application Questions: A few short written responses.
- Take-Home Assessment: A standard technical test.
- Initial Interview: A 25-minute conversation.
- Final Round: A one-on-one deep dive.
Pro Tip:
If you want to ace the interview, use Claude itself to run mock interviews ;)
Feed it the job description and ask it to grill you.
Even if you do not get selected, going through the motions of learning Claude 101 and practicing your interview skills is a net positive for your career.
