A Pause, and A Fresh Start

It’s been more than five months since I last wrote here.

In that time, life wasn’t exactly smooth sailing, like there were moments where things felt heavy, and writing simply took a backseat.

But we won’t discuss those heavy moments anyway. In those quiet months, two very recent journeys gave me the perspective I needed: one to Himachal and another to Netarhat.

Two solo trips

Himachal, with its endless mountains and cold winds, reminded me of scale. Standing there, surrounded by peaks that had existed long before me and would remain long after, my own worries felt lighter. It was as if the mountains whispered: This too shall pass.

Netarhat, on the other hand, was different. Tucked away and lesser known, it offered something quieter — stillness. Watching the sun melt into layers of forests made me realize that clarity doesn’t always come from chasing; sometimes it comes from simply being still enough to notice.

These two trips, so different in character, left me with a simple lesson: perspective changes everything.

When life feels overwhelming, sometimes you don’t need answers — you need distance. And in that distance, you rediscover your ability to begin again.

So here I am, beginning again.

This winter, I want to use writing as a kind of open journal.

Nothing forced though :)
Just small entries about the things I’m learning, building, and trying.

Like a personal notebook in public?

For now, three themes/things that’ll be the key.

  • Algorithms: not just for coding interviews, but as a way of sharpening the problem-solving muscle that carries over into everyday life.
  • System Design: because thinking in terms of scale, resilience, and efficiency doesn’t just apply to servers — it applies to how we build our lives too.
  • Fitness: a journey of discipline and care, where progress is measured not in quick results but in consistency and patience.

And of course, Writing!

Maybe this winter arc of self-improvement will become a habit. Maybe it won’t.

But at the very least, it’s a commitment to show up, to keep writing, and to keep moving forward.

Listen, I am just restarting, with a clearer head and steadier heart, okay?

I don’t know what has changed over here, and what hasn’t. But trust me, I’ll write irrespective of anything! Grrrrrrrrrr.

In case we are meeting for the first time, come over here, it’ll be worth the roller coaster of articles that are gonna come up in the next few weeks.
